Many people believe they lack the strength and power to achieve a certain goal. They don’t realize that their negative thinking mechanism is responsible for holding them down. This truth applies to every aspect of life, including keeping healthy and healthy aging .

It is possible to gain motivation to live healthier by simply telling yourself, “I can do it” and moving into action as you do, as anything you put your mind to, you can do it if ONLY you want to. Having said that… how important is healthy aging to you?

Here are a couple of ideas that you can implement right away to live healthy now and all the way into your golden years:

You know that a short 30-minute walk is good for your health. Just say to yourself, “I can do it,” and go for a walk as you do. If you have not done this in a while, you may not have the stamina to walk 30 minutes on your first attempt, but just the fact that you did it will encourage you to keep on going.

The next day, you can walk a little longer than the first one, and so on until you reach your goal of 30 minutes a day. It doesn’t matter if it takes you a couple of weeks (or months) to accomplish this. The important thing is to do it and to improve yourself at your own pace.

As with anything else, healthy aging is linked to being in control of your thoughts, actions, feelings, and behaviors. This enables you to build mind power and belief in yourself… Repeat “I can do it” every time you attempt a new activity to improve your health, and you will.

However, do not drive yourself to exhaustion or strain yourself until it hurts. Your body is malleable, but if you have not exercised in a while, you must take it easy. Be kind to your body, and it will respond accordingly. Also, remember to visit your physician and follow their instructions when trying to incorporate exercise into your life, especially if you have not done this in a while.

The important thing is to start somewhere. If you don’t put your mind to becoming active for better health and healthy aging, you will eventually suffer the consequences of your decisions and your lack of action. Remember that not making a decision is also a decision… only a passive one.

Negative reflections can defeat the purpose of getting your thoughts in control and your body in shape. Make sure you do not fall into the trap of saying, “I will do it later.” As you probably know, more often than not, the things we postpone seldom get done. This is another negative reflection called procrastination.

Procrastination leads to inactivity and laziness, which only results in weak muscles and joints, less oxygen in your brain and organs, and sluggishness of essential functions, which may gradually lead to medical problems.

This is why, when it comes to healthy aging, you must take control of your thoughts and actions sooner rather than later. The truth is, if you want to do something wrong enough, you will do what you have to do to get where you want to be. Again… how important is healthy aging for you?

For most of us, our health is of primary importance. If this resonates with you, then you must create a goal and stick to it until you reach your intended result.

You need to create realistic plans to help you reach your goals. You need to act on those plans every single day, even if for a few minutes.

The important thing is to act and do it regularly.

Resist the urge to give up. If you feel overwhelmed, take a break, but never give up. If you find yourself procrastinating or, worse yet, giving up, remember that your purpose is to reach your golden years in optimum health and renew your faith and confidence in yourself – repeat “I can do it” as you realign your actions with your intention.

When times get hard and you think you can’t go on, just remember your mantra and say it out loud: “I can do it,” and remember that positive thinking will take you a long way.

Don’t dwell on something you can’t change; instead, focus on the things you have the power to change. Fortunately, healthy aging is no longer a myth. Recent studies have shown that when it comes to healthy aging, we can do much about it. Healthy aging is very much linked to the food we eat and the activities we engage in, and overall, it is about the way we think.

Having a positive attitude will give you a jumpstart to a healthier life now and peace of mind over your aging process. Thus, think positively about healthy aging!
